Coke Drum Units
Coke drum units produce high calorie coal (petrocoke) by using the remaining portion after crude oil has been processed in the refinery. However, the average lifespan of Kok Dram is 8 years. The coke drum unit heats up to 400 ° C during production. This leads to excessive tension in the carrier apron under the influence of the outside temperature. This tension disrupts the structure of the edge plate material and tears the welds on it.
The perforated slots opened on the carrier apron sheet minimize stress on the apron sheet and as a result of this process the life of the coke drum units is up to 16 years. With the technology that we developed in the Coke Dram Unit of the Tüpraş Izmit refinery, we successfully carried out the required operations in April 2019.
The technology used has been patented worldwide with the patent number TR 2019/08508. The Tüpraş and Cnc Center is a patent partner. All international projects are planned and coordinated by Tüpraş and the Cnc Center.
Project Stages
- The opening of the perforated slots is done by using the technology developed by our company completely using machining principles and absolutely no welding or flame cutting is used.
- Project approval was given by Kok Dram Insurance company Wood PLC.
- Our technology does not damage the molecular structure of the skirt hair.
- In the project we made, it was determined that no hairline cracks were formed by the penetrant test.
- There is rock wool insulation material on the front and back of the skirt sheet. Disassembly and assembly of the insulation material on the back takes a long time. With the technology we have developed, only the insulation material on the front face is removed and all operations are carried out without removing the back insulation material. No personnel works behind the skirt sheet and this way the process is completed in a very short time.
- Deburring, chamfering and radius on the front and back sides are made according to the technical drawing.
- Hole diameter, axis between holes, slot width and angle between surrounding slots are within tolerances given in the technical drawing.
